WTF!?
This is going to be eventful…I’m going to Grayland, WA which is in Gray’s Harbor County…before I go to Seattle today.
Look it up, I swear it exists.
Due time for an update I suppose.
I have been in Portland, OR for just shy of two weeks now. In that time I have decided that I want to live here, recognized the struggle to find work and housing in such short notice, decided I don’t want to stop travelling yet, and met some pretty cool folks who I will mention later. The Portland area or more specifically the urban region is really big...
There is hope!
I just scheduled a job interview for Macy’s for a week from today and may very well have an interview at Office Depot on Wednesday. Super Excited!!
Photos from the Mendecino region of California.
More soon enough, not feeling wordy at the moment.
To explain my lack of update posts I would like to inform all that I have been in search of a job or more likely, jobs (Plural), here in Portland. This city has so much to see I think I will have to stay a while to explore it all.
Also, I really have a lot of photographs to edit and doing that on this little netbook is at best an arduous task.
in Portland, big updates later.
Update
I am now in Medford, OR with Glen and Carole. I slept well last night. This morning, eggs, bacon, coffee, then maybe a bicycle ride.
Here is what you have been (hopefully) waiting...
This is what I believe is called Cobra Beach, all I know is that it was beautiful and there was nobody there.
These two are close geographically but I don’t remember where specifically I was, only that I was much further north than cobra beach which was only a few miles north of Santa Cruz.
These three were taken at the first “Drive through tree”...
Photos soon! Today even!!
Why my day has started off better than yours.
…Also, I am eating coffee cake..with a great cup of coffee. what’s the rub you ask? It’s Nectarine Peach Ginger Coffee Cake! Fresh baked just some 20 minutes before I got to it.
This is some way to start the day.
Currently in Ferndale having driven from a camp site in the middle of the Avenue of the Giants. That drive was absolutely breathtaking and I was fortunate enough to have been able to drive along it this morning doing little more than 30mph most of the way. Don’t worry, I have photos, just not in the place to work on them again…they keep “piling” up and having the time to...

…In San Francisco now, have been for two days going on three. I am currently seated in a small bar called the Little Shamrock.
Thus far I have been to The Academy of Sciences and the Art gallery across the yard from it though I cannot remember the name of it now. At one point I decided to attempt to walk the 30-something blocks to the beach from where I am at and got within 15 blocks...
Huge Prints!
I have only once before had a photograph of mine printed in a large size (that is larger than 8x12in).
I have now had three more printed 20x30in in true photographic quality. I cannot truly share with you how awesome they look in person. I can however show you which ones I chose.
to be honest, the last one is not quite the one I got printed but it is so very close and I don’t...
Moving on.
I plan to leave Santa Cruz (where I have been for a week) on Thursday morning if all goes as planned. My stay here has been great, the people are friendly, the city (town) is just big enough to be explored, and the weather is great, though maybe a little chilly at night. I am not sure too sure where I will go from here but I do know that I will be heading north, and will very likely end up in...
^^ The really awesome couple that allowed me to live in their home for five days.
^^The view from their front yard of the amazing sunsets of California.
^^The PITA Society Friday morning breakfast meetup, these guys are crazy…In a good way!
The Ground Squirrel (one of many) at the elephant seal viewing area. The signs said not to feed the animals but nobody read them so these...
More donations!
Thank you Chris Greene for your recent donation, every little bit will help me go a little further and explore a little more.
To anyone wanting to see photos, starting tomorrow and for a few days after I will probably have some time to throw a few good ones up here for you all to actually see where I have been. I have just been either too busy or lacking the needed resources to post them.
Donation Thanks
I have had three new donations! To these people I offer a great big thank you!
Margaret from Los Gatos, CA
Claude from Littlerock, CA
Roger from Llano, CA
These people will be given a signed print of one of my photographs.
This is an offer to anyone who makes a donation of at least $10, of course you can donate more than that if you like, I certainly will not complain.
Update No. 2
In Flagstaff now.
Have many photos but not the cable to transfer them to the computer…and now that I think about it, I have not seen the memory card reader either…
I may have to make another purchase…
Photos soon to come though, don’t worry.

I leave in almost precisely one week from today to take on my own little journey to places I have never been. I have almost all that I need for this adventure and have prepared myself mentally for it, now all there is to do is throw everything in the car and start driving. Who knows what will happen along the way and who knows where I will go or for that matter where I will stop. All I know is...
Somewhere between three and four weeks from now I will begin my trip across the country (halfway across anyhow). At this moment I am coming to the realization that I need to have everything ready to go long before that day comes if I want it to be a stress free departure. So far I have these things:
Hiking Pack (28L)
Tent (fits two)
“Survival” knife (if all shit hits the fan)
...
Happy Mothers’ Day Mom.

Being busy, easily distracted, and sometimes lacking motivation has led to me neglecting to mention someone I met some time back.
Elise Abigail is an up and coming photographer in the Springfield area. Anyone reading this should check out her work (obviously she is the one on the left, Ethan is on the right)

Had a shoot with Ben today:
Here are a couple of Tina. Taken in her back yard. The grass was so green and lush that day.
Just a few miscellaneous photographs from the past couple weeks

SSLYBY
Last night I went to the SSLYBY show at the Outland Ballroom in downtown Springfield, MO and had an absolute blast. This was really the best test for my new camera and it performed admirably. I am more than satisfied with the results I had with it. Both still shots and video did amazingly well.
On a different note…The concert was AWESOME! Brightside, Berch, and Someone Still Loves You...
I had a time at a friend’s apartment the other night. He served sushi and drinks, played music, and I took photos. There was good conversation and laughter, especially when I used his track lights as makeshift studio lights.
The other night I met some nice people at The Albatross. I had been there with a friend when the two on the right showed up with nowhere to sit. I let them sit with me and shared the smoke with them while they shared their wine. After introductions and idle chit chat I come to find out that Phil is a member of a local band Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and that the band will be in need...
I had a photo shoot with a good friend of mine a week or so back. The point of the shoot was for him to leave with some good “publicity photos” for his musical career. I have to say, I really enjoyed this one since the whole time he was playing his guitar and singing nonsensical lyrics about what he had just seen or was currently looking at.

My Buddy Joe from some years back.
Cleaning and removal of no longer necessary items is a tough task. I have taken the initiative that only I can take and decided to clean my living space and throw away everything that I haven’t used in an extended period of time…

I am nearly half way to having what I need to leave where I am for somewhere else.
That is to say that I have almost half the money I need to leave for California and I think about it every day. I can’t help but be excited about the trip I will be taking, the things I will see, the people I may meet…
It is not that I don’t like it where I am now…not entirely. This...
Heading off to another day at work. Moving, temporarily, to another department.
birthday morning.
Woke up, opened the card my dad left for me on the kitchen counter (awesome card btw), took a shower, put on my favorite pair of jeans and found a twenty dollar bill in the right front pocket…yeah, so far this birthday is pretty great.

My skate themed holiday.
I now have my “three” xmas/birthday gifts to myself on order. I am waiting for three Decks (two long, on tiny) and trucks, wheels, bushings for the tiny one. The tiny setup should be all here in a week while the other two larger decks should ship on the fourth of January which happens to be my day of birth.

Road Trippin'
I have created a budget for myself so that I might be able to save enough money to leave this state by the early middle of next year. The trip may only end up a vacation but if things go as planned…
I will be driving of course, all the way to California from Missouri, though I have yet and perhaps never will set in stone the route by which I will get there. I think I will just make sure I...
I’ve kind of liked this one since I took it but never knew why…still don’t
